Regular Season Round 11: Crema - Moncalieri 68-61

The game between Top Four teams took place in Crema. Second ranked host Team Crema (10-1) defeated 4th placed Moncalieri (8-3) 68-61. It was an exceptional evening for guard Norma Rizzi (172-93) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Guard Francesca Melchiori (174-93, agency: SPORTlab Agency) accounted for 22 points for the winning side. Point guard Anastasia Conte (171-0) came up with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Ilenia Cordola (183-96) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Moncalieri in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Team Crema maintains second place in A2 with 10-1 record having just one point less than leader Campobasso. Newly promoted Moncalieri dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Team Crema will play against Vicenza (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Moncalieri will play against Bolzano AV and hopes to get back on the winning track.
