Very important is a road loss of third ranked Maccabi T-A (6-2) against tenth ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (3-6) on Sunday night. Visiting Maccabi T-A was edged by Ironi Nes-Ziona in a tough game in Nes Ziyona 81-83. Strangely Maccabi T-A outrebounded Ironi Nes-Ziona 41-28 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Naturalized Welsh Tal-Michael Dunne (198-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) stepped up and scored 9 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and American swingman Daequan Cook (196-87, college: Ohio St.) chipped in 24 points. The best for the losing side was international point guard John DiBartolomeo (183-91, college: Rochester, agency: Duran International) with 19 points and 5 assists and American power forward Johnny O'Bryant III (205-93, college: LSU) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ironi Nes-Ziona moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Hapoel T-A. Defending champion Maccabi T-A dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Hapoel J-M. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against league's leader Hapoel Holon on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi T-A will play against the league's second-placed Hapoel Jerusalem where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
