Regular Season Round 10: Young Angels - UKF Nitra 67-54

There was no surprise in Kosice where 5th ranked UKF Nitra (5-5) was defeated by second ranked Young Angels (8-2) 67-54 on Sunday. Young Angels dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to UKF Nitra's 24. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Young Angels made 8 blocks. American guard Samantha Logic (175-92, college: Iowa, agency: LBM Management) stepped up and scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and center Denisa Blanarova (186-97) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Young Angels' coach Zuzana Zirkova used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was center Michaela Zentkova (190-89) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Camesha Davis (185-94, college: Texas A&M-CC) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Newly promoted Young Angels maintains second place with 8-2 record having just three points less than leader MBK Ruzomb. UKF Nitra lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with five games lost. Young Angels will meet at home bottom-ranked Slovan (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. UKF Nitra will play against Piestanske C. in Piestany and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
