The game in Reykjavik was also quite interesting. Second ranked Njardvik (8-1) played at the court of 6th ranked IR (4-5). Njardvik managed to secure a 6-point victory 94-88 on Sunday. IR was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Njardvik looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was international point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94, college: Barry, agency: Inception Sports) who scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American point guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Justin Martin (198-90, college: SMU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and American-Dutch Gerald Robinson (202-84, college: Tenn-Martin) added 20 points and 12 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) respectively. Five Njardvik and four IR players scored in double figures. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Njardvik. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Tindastoll. IR lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with Grindavik and Haukar. Njardvik will meet at home bottom-ranked Breidablik (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. IR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Reykjavik to the arena KR.
