There was no surprise when 11th ranked Ancona Luciana (4-6) was outleveled at home by seventh ranked Civitanova (6-5) 90-67 on Sunday. Ancona Luciana was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Riccardo Coviello (195-88) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Attilio Pierini (201-81) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Filippo Centanni (180-94) answered with 11 points and 7 assists and Lorenzo Baldoni (200-87) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Ancona Luciana. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Civitanova maintains seventh place in B with 6-5 record, which they share with Bernareggio and San Vendemiano. Newly promoted Ancona Luciana keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. Civitanova will face Teramo (#13) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
