Regular Season Round 11: Deco Caserta - IUL Tiber 76-70

Very predictable result when first ranked Deco (10-1) won against 9th ranked IUL Tiber (5-6) in Caserta 76-70 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Deco made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Guard Leonardo Ciribeni (190-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 4 assists. Power forward Biagio Sergio (197-86) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Deco players scored in double figures. Power forward Alessandro Cecchetti (200-91) answered with 20 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Federico Lestini (204-83, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 19 points in the effort for IUL Tiber. IUL Tiber's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Deco maintains first place in B with 10-1 record, which they share with Faenza. Loser IUL Tiber keeps the ninth position with six games lost. Deco will face Battipaglia (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. IUL Tiber will play against Catania Alfa (#15) and hope to win that game.
