Very expected game when 11th ranked Pyrinto Akatemia (2-8) lost on the road to seventh ranked Oulun NMKY (5-5) 76-67 on Sunday. Pyrinto Akatemia trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 18 after three quarters before a 24-15 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 67-76 at the end of the game. Oulun NMKY forced 19 Pyrinto Akatemia turnovers. American power forward Brian Moultrie (198-87, college: Armstr.Atlantic) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Shon Briggs (198-95, college: CSU Bakersfield) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Briggs is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Oulun NMKY players scored in double figures. Oulun NMKY's coach Jussi Eskola used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Joni Pohjonen (203-98) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and forward Erik Aro (196-89) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Pyrinto Akatemia. Oulun NMKY maintains seventh place in Division with 5-5 record. Loser Pyrinto Akatemia dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. Oulun NMKY will face Korikouvot (#9) in Kouvola in the next round. Pyrinto Akatemia will play at home against Korikouvot and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
