Very expected game when 9th ranked Alma TR (4-5) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Vanoli Cremona (6-3) 87-78 on Sunday. Alma TR was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Drew Crawford (196-90, college: Northwestern) who scored 24 points. His fellow American import swingman Wesley Saunders (196-93, college: Harvard) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jamarr Sanders (193-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) who recorded 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Latvian Ojars Silins (203-93) added 16 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Alma TR's coach Eugenio Dalmasson let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vanoli Cremona moved-up to third place, which they share with Openjobmetis V. and Sidigas AV. Newly promoted Alma TR dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Vanoli Cremona will face VL Pesaro (#7) on the road in the next round. Alma TR will play against Sidigas AV and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
