Regular Season Round 10: Kalmar - Bankeryd 132-138

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Kalmar (3-6) was defeated at home by third ranked Bankeryd (6-3) 138-132 on Sunday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 35-22. But Kalmar won second period 29-27. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bankeryd made 31-of-38 free shots (81.6 percent) during the game. Kalmar was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Jonas Eriksson (190-85) scored 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Marcus Homelius (183-94) chipped in 26 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) during the contest. At the losing side Slovenian Jan Tratnik (190-89) responded with a triple-double by scoring 49 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 11 assists (on 20-of-23 shooting from the field) and American forward Mike McDevitt (203, college: Franklin Pierce) scored 28 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Bankeryd moved-up to second place, which they share with Akropol. Newly promoted Kalmar keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Bankeryd will face Haga BG (#7) in Norrkoping in the next round where they are favorite.
