Regular Season Round 8: HNMKY - MuKi 86-91

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Helsinki: MuKi (#2) and HNMKY (#5). HNMKY was defeated at home 86-91 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 48-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. MuKi outrebounded HNMKY 50-35 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Nikolas Gustavson (191-1) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 9 rebounds and guard Robin Avist (191-0) who added 28 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Guard Markus Kataja (188-0) responded with 24 points and center Max Besselink (197-2) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four HNMKY players scored in double figures. HNMKY's coach Timo Saukkola tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. MuKi (6-1) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position having just three points less than leader Rocks. HNMKY at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with KTP. MuKi will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. HNMKY's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Helsinki Go Time.
