Regular Season Round 15: Koshigaya A. - Toyoda Gosei 94-84

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Koshigaya A. (18-2) beat 6th ranked Toyoda Gosei (5-3) in Tokyo 94-84 on Sunday. They outrebounded Toyoda Gosei 60-31 including a 25-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 25 rebounds. His fellow American import Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) accounted for 19 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. American-Irish Brian Voelkel (196-92, college: Vermont) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Eiji Sumihiro (171-89) added 18 points and 5 assists respectively for Toyoda Gosei in the defeat. Five Koshigaya A. and four Toyoda Gosei players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Koshigaya A. maintains second place with 18-2 record behind leader Tokyo Excel. Loser Toyoda Gosei keeps the sixth position with three games lost. Koshigaya A. will meet Iwate Big Bulls (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Toyoda Gosei will play against the league's leader Tokyo Excel. and hope to secure a win.
