There was a small surprise when seventeenth ranked Rosmini D. (1-10) rolled over 15th ranked Siena Virtus (2-8) in Domodossola 111-87 on Sunday. Rosmini D. shot 64.4 percent from the field and made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. Rosmini D. had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Point guard Andrea Tommei (180-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 32 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Riccardo Ballabio (181-98) contributed with 18 points, 8 assists and 4 steals (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Swingman Gianmarco Olleia (196-93, agency: Interperformances) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Francesco Gnecchi (183-99) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Siena Virtus. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Siena Virtus' coach Maurizio Tozzi gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Rosmini D. left bottom position moving up to sixteenth place in B, which they share with Lugo. Siena Virtus at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Rosmini D. will face higher ranked Alba (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
