Regular Season Round 8: 36ers - Hawks 86-87
Date: December 9, 2018
Very significant was Illawarra Hawks' (#5) just 1-point road victory against 6th ranked Adelaide 36ers 87-86. The winners were led by American guard Jordair Jett (185-91, college: St.Louis) who scored that evening 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international center AJ Ogilvy (211-88, college: Vanderbilt) supported him with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Five Illawarra Hawks players scored in double figures. Even 24 points by international guard Nathan Sobey (190-90, college: Wyoming) did not help to save the game for Adelaide 36ers. American forward Jacob Wiley (203-94, college: E.Washington) added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Illawarra Hawks have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 6-7 record. Adelaide 36ers at the other side keep the sixth place with eight games lost. Illawarra Hawks will play against higher ranked Kings (#3) in Sydney in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Adelaide 36ers will play on the road against Bullets in Brisbane and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
