Regular Season Round 9: Torino - Ragusa 48-77

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Ragusa (6-3) crushed on the road 10th ranked Torino (2-7) 77-48. Ragusa made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Ragusa had a 41-29 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. New Zealand Jillian Harmon (185-87, college: Stanford, agency: LBM Management) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American forward Dearica Hamby (190-93, college: Wake Forest, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 18 points and 16 rebounds. Four Ragusa players scored in double figures. Ragusa's coach Gianni Recupido felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was center Valeria Trucco (190-99) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Ilaria Milazzo (167-94) scored 8 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Ragusa. They maintain fourth place with 6-3 record. Torino lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Battipaglia and Vigarano. Ragusa will play against Napoli (#5) at home in the next round. Torino will play against San Martino (#6) in San Martino di L and hopes to get back on the winning track.
