Regular Season Round 9: Deerlijk - Sint Katelijne 44-66

An interesting game for Sint Kateline Waver (7-1) which played road game in Deerlijk against 4th placed Tulikivi (5-2). Second ranked Sint Kateline Waver had an easy win 66-44. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Tulikivi. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sint Kateline Waver made 16 blocks. It was a good game for international center Becky Massey (186-0) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. International Laure Resimont (185-98) contributed with 17 points for the winners. The former international center Lara Gaspar (190-90, college: Rhode Island, agency: LBM Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Lisa Foucart (170-92) added 9 points in the effort for Tulikivi. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sint Kateline Waver have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 7-1 record having just three point less than leader Castors Braine. Tulikivi at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Belfius Namur. Sint Kateline Waver are looking forward to face Spirou Ladies Charleroi (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Tulikivi will play against Jeugd Gentson and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
