The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Perth Lynx (9-3) on the court of sixth ranked Dandenong Rangers on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Dandenong Rangers 96-76. Dandenong Rangers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Perth Lynx's 36 and made 25-of-28 free shots (89.3 percent) during the game, while Perth Lynx only scored four points from the stripe. Dandenong Rangers looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Kayla Pedersen (193-89, college: Stanford, agency: LBM Management) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and guard Rebecca Cole (178-92) chipped in 21 points and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Asia Taylor (188-91, college: Louisville, agency: LBM Management) with 17 points and the other American import forward Kayla Steindl (187-89, college: Gonzaga) scored 18 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dandenong Rangers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 5-6 record. Perth Lynx at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Dandenong Rangers are looking forward to face higher ranked Bendigo Spirit (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Perth Lynx will play against Canberra Capitals (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
