Regular Season Round 7: Gomel-Sozh - Victoria 73-74

The most exciting game of round 7 in the Premier League took place in Gomel. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked Gomel-Sozh (2-6) to fourth ranked Victoria (4-4) 74-73 on Sunday evening. Gomel-Sozh was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 16-12 charge of Victoria, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for guard Yana Iahnovets (169-1) who led her team to a victory scoring 17 points and 7 assists. Forward Anastasia Feklistova (178-2) helped adding 18 points. At the losing side guard Maryna Rakauskaya (173-92) responded with 27 points and 6 rebounds and forward Yulia Haponova (185-94) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. Victoria have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 4-4 record. Gomel-Sozh lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Gorizont II. Victoria's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Grodno Olimpia.
