An interesting game was also home defeat of 2nd ranked Azpeitia ISB in a game versus Zamorano (#1) 93-88. It was a key game for the top position in Silver. Zamorano made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. The winners were led by French point guard Sango Niang (183-93, college: Simon Fraser) who scored that evening 28 points and 5 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and American forward Luke Meikle (206-94, college: Cal Poly - SLO) supported him with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Zamorano's coach Saulo Hernandez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 16 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists by American guard Jahvaughn Powell (183-96, college: Nicholls St.) did not help to save the game for Azpeitia ISB. Forward Iker Salazar (200-93) added 16 points and 7 rebounds. Five Azpeitia ISB players scored in double figures. Zamorano maintains first position in Silver with 8-4 record. Loser Azpeitia ISB dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. Zamorano will meet at home Baskonia (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Azpeitia ISB will play against Estela (#5) in Santander and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
