Regular Season Round 7: Gorizont - Lulea Basket 81-86

There was no surprise in Minsk where 9th ranked Belarusian Gorizont (2-3) was defeated by third ranked Swedish Lulea Basket (4-1) 86-81. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gorizont won third quarter 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lulea Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a very good performance for American forward Chastity Reed (185-89, college: UALR) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Her fellow American import point guard Michaela Houser (170-91, college: Purdue) contributed with 17 points and 8 assists for the winners. Guard Volha Ziuzkova (171-83) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and center Marina Kress (193-80) added 9 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Gorizont. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Lulea Basket. Defending Swedish champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Rostov. Gorizont lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
