The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Lyon as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Lyon smashed bottom-ranked Mondeville at home 83-46. Lyon dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Mondeville's 38. Lyon forced 19 Mondeville turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists.
