Regular Season Round 8: Al-Ahli - Isa Town 88-72

Very expected game when 10th ranked Isa Town (1-6) lost to fourth ranked Al-Ahli (6-1) in Manama 72-88. Al-Ahli dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Isa Town's 32. Al-Ahli forced 20 Isa Town turnovers and outrebounded them 42-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-New Zealand forward Marcel Jones (203-85, college: Oregon St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 18 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international forward Hesham Sarhan (-92) who added 28 points during the contest. Al-Ahli's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Tunisian Ahmed Salman responded with 31 points and 7 assists and Farazdaq Bardastani scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Al-Ahli have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Al-Riffa. Isa Town at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Al-Ahli will play against Al-Hala (#8) in Muharraq in the next round where they are favorite. Isa Town will play on the road against Sitra to get more than just one victory in their record.
