There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Tapiolan Honka (5-8) beat at home 4th ranked Kouvottaret (7-6) 88-82 on Tuesday. Kouvottaret was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 23-15 charge of Tapiolan Honka, which allowed them to win the game. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American forward Sidney Cook (188-94, college: Virginia Tech) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import forward Alexyz Vaioletama (185-93, college: USC) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Maria Koskinen (165-88) replied with 22 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Taeler Deer (165-96, college: Texas St.) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Kouvottaret. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Tapiolan Honka went down to eighth position due to points difference. Loser Kouvottaret keeps the fourth place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
