An interesting game took place in Taiyuan where 6th ranked Flame (13-7) was upset on its own court by ninth ranked Henan Phoenix (11-9) 78-64 on Tuesday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Flame. Henan Phoenix made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Stefanie Dolson (196-92, college: Connecticut) who scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Jie Sun (187-91) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Tongtong Wu (176) produced 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international center Xin Guan (196-87) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Henan Phoenix moved-up to eighth place. Loser Flame keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Shandong. Henan Phoenix will meet higher ranked Beijing Great Wall (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Flame will play against Golden Bulls in Yiwu and hope to secure a win.
