Rather predictable result in Logrono where sixth ranked Cocinas.com (8-6) defeated 8th ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (6-8) 81-69 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Cocinas.com. Fontedoso Carrefour was better in third quarter 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Center Arnau Parrado (200-0) stepped up and scored 22 points for the winners and American-Haitian swingman Junior Saintel (201-95, college: Stony Brook) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks. Cocinas.com's coach Jenaro Diaz used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side naturalized Brazilian center Sidnei De-Santana (216-83) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and Senegalese center Biram Faye (206-0) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Cocinas.com moved-up to fifth place in Silver. Loser Fontedoso Carrefour keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Cocinas.com will face Tormes (#12) in Salamanca in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fontedoso Carrefour will play at home against Plasencia (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
