Second Stage Round 3: Fortuna - Vilkmerge 64-67

The most exciting game of round 3 in the LSBL took place in Klaipeda. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of Fortuna (0-3) to Vilkmerge (2-2) 67-64 on Tuesday evening. Fortuna was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 20-11 charge of Vilkmerge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American center Kourtni Perry (188-93, college: Central State) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Lithuanian Klaudija Serkeviciute (172-99) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Vilkmerge's coach Gytautas Kievinas used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian guard Andra Gabalyte (179-80, college: Liberty) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and Lithuanian forward Brigita Gudelionyte (183-98) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Vilkmerge will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fortuna will play at home against TTT Riga (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
