Regular Season Round 14: Kouvot - BC Nokia 85-90

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Kouvot (6-8) lost to sixth ranked BC Nokia (7-8) in Kouvola 85-90. It looked good early as Kouvot took a 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then BC Nokia took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 5 points. They outrebounded Kouvot 42-25 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Power forward Sean OMara (208-95, college: Xavier, agency: Inception Sports) had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Juan Davis (203-96, college: Troy) chipped in 14 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Brian Asbury (201-86, college: Miami, FL) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds and guard David Gonzalvez (193-87, college: Richmond) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Five BC Nokia and four Kouvot players scored in double figures. BC Nokia moved-up to fifth place. Kouvot at the other side dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. BC Nokia will play against bottom-ranked UU-Korihait (#11) in Uusikaupunki in the next round where they are favorite. Kouvot will have a break next round.
