Regular Season Round 22: Ryukyu GK - Kyoto Hannar. 87-71

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Okinawa. First ranked Ryukyu GK faced 3rd ranked Kyoto Hannar.. Host Ryukyu GK (16-6) defeated guests from Kyoto (12-10) 87-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kyoto Hannar.. It was a great shooting night for Ryukyu GK especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: Arizona St.) chipped in 18 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and American center David Simon (208-82, college: PFW) scored 22 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ryukyu GK maintains first position with 16-6 record. Loser Kyoto Hannar. keeps the third place with ten games lost. They share the position with SeaHorses. Ryukyu GK will meet league's second-placed Diamond Dolphins in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kyoto Hannar. will play against Aishin Sea Horses and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
