Regular Season Round 13: Menorca - Girona Basquet 62-64

The most exciting game of round 13 in the LEB Silver took place in Mahon. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 8th ranked Menorca (5-8) to sixth ranked Girona Basquet (8-5) 64-62 on Wednesday evening. Forward Jordi Trias (208-80) stepped up and scored 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and American center Andre Berry (203-95, college: Rhode Island) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Girona Basquet's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side power forward Carlos Poyatos (207-94) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and forward Adrian Mendez (195-93) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Girona Basquet moved-up to fifth place in Silver. Menorca at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Girona Basquet are looking forward to face Albacete (#11) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Menorca will play against the league's second-placed HLA Alicante and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
