Very predictable result when second ranked HLA Alicante (9-4) smashed at home 10th ranked La Roda (4-9) 77-56 on Wednesday. Point guard Enric Garrido (178-82) stepped up and scored 13 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners and American point guard Justin Pitts (178-94, college: NW Missouri St., agency: Duran International) chipped in 14 points. HLA Alicante's coach Pedro Rivero felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Senegalese center Serigne Barro (208-95) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Oscar Herrero (182-87) scored 11 points. HLA Alicante maintains second place in Silver with 9-4 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Aquimisa LZ. Loser La Roda keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. HLA Alicante will face Menorca (#9) in Mahon in the next round and are hoping to win another game. La Roda will play on the road against Azuqueca and hope to win that game.
