Regular Season Round 22: Fukuoka Rizing - Nagoya DD 81-102

Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (5-17) was outplayed at home by second ranked Diamond Dolphins (13-9) 102-81 on Wednesday. Diamond Dolphins shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. American Markeith Cummings (198-88, college: Kennesaw St.) fired 28 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The other American import Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: Arizona St.) produced 25 points and 9 rebounds and British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-95, college: W.Kentucky) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Diamond Dolphins maintains second position with 13-9 record having just two points less than leader Tochigi Brex, which they share with Kawasaki BT. Fukuoka Rizing lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth place with 17 games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face league's leader Ryukyu GK in Okinawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fukuoka Rizing will play at home against Shiga L-Stars (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
