The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Czech Sokol Hradec Kralove as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Sokol Hradec Kralove smashed their biggest opponent German BC Pharmaserv Marburg at home 74-50. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Sokol Hradec Kralove dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to BC Pharmaserv Marburg's 28. Sokol Hradec Kralove forced 25 BC Pharmaserv Marburg turnovers and outrebounded them 37-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Belarusian swingman Tatsiana Likhtarovich (180-88) who helped to win the game recording 13 points. Center Petra Kulichova (198-84) contributed with 13 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Canadian-Hungarian center Alexandria Kiss-Rusk (193-93, college: McGill, agency: Interperformances) replied with 10 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Katlyn Yohn (182-91, college: Bradley) added 3 points in the effort for BC Pharmaserv Marburg. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. BC Pharmaserv Marburg at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. BC Pharmaserv Marburg will play next round against strong Piestanske C. trying to get back on the winning streak. Sokol Hradec Kralove will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
