Regular Season Round 8: Muharraq - Sitra 115-76

Premier League top team - Al-Muharraq (8-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Sitra (3-4) in Al Muharraq 115-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sitra. They outrebounded Sitra 43-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. Al-Muharraq players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Sitra's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Worth to mention a quality performance of Ahmed Aldurazi who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 4 assists and American forward Sean Williams (208-86, college: Boston Coll.) who added 18 points, 12 rebounds and 8 blocks during the contest. Four Al-Muharraq players scored in double figures. The former international guard Hussain Taqi (173-78) responded with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Iraqi Ali Abdulla scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al-Muharraq have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record. Sitra at the other side dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with Al-Hala and Al-Najma. Al-Muharraq will play against Al-Nweidrat (#12) in Nuwaidrat in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Sitra will play at home against Isa Town (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
