Regular Season Round 8: Ashdod - Ramat Hasharon 68-66

A very interesting game took place in Ashdod. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Ramat Hasharon (3-5) to seventh ranked Maccabi Ashdod (4-4) 68-66 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ramat Hasharon. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was point guard Chelsea Hopkins (173-90, college: San Diego St., agency: Ron Sport) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Victoria Vivians (185-94, college: Mississippi St.) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Sydney Wiese (185-95, college: Oregon St., agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and guard Linnae Harper (173-95, college: Ohio St.) added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for the guests. Five Ramat Hasharon players scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Bnot Hertzeliya and Maccabi Raanana. Ramat Hasharon at the other side keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Maccabi Ashdod's next round opponent will be higher ranked Elitzur Holon (#4) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Ramat Hasharon will play against B.Yehuda (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
