Regular Season Round 9: Wildcats - Kings 97-98

Top ranked Perth Wildcats (11-4) recorded its fourth loss at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were edged by third ranked Kings (9-4) 98-97. They made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Kings especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was Ukrainian-American point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California) who scored 22 points. American forward David Wear (208-90, college: UCLA) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Bryce Cotton (185-92, college: Providence, agency: Pensack Sports) who recorded 26 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals and international power forward Nick Kay (206-92, college: Metro St.) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Four Kings and five Perth Wildcats players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kings maintains third place with 9-4 record having 2 victories less than leader Wildcats. Perth Wildcats at the other side still keep top position with four games lost. Kings are looking forward to face league's second-placed United in Melbourne in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Perth Wildcats will play on the road against Illawarra Hawks in Gwynneville and are hoping to win this game.
