Regular Season Round 12: Raiders Basket - Ura Basket II 99-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Ura Basket II's (3-8) road loss to seventh ranked Raiders Basket (6-5) 72-99 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Raiders Basket. Ura Basket II was better in fourth quarter 22-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Raiders Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Ura Basket II's 54. Raiders Basket forced 24 Ura Basket II turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Derylton Hill (196-94, college: Ark.-Monticello) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Jordan Jacks (196-94, college: Ky Wesleyan) who added 16 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists and 7 steals during the contest. Four Raiders Basket players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Trey Niemi (185-98) with 20 points and 5 assists and forward Joona Airenne (200-98) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Ura Basket II's coach Jukka Valpola already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Raiders Basket moved-up to sixth place in Division. Ura Basket II at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Raiders Basket will face higher ranked Raholan Pyrkiva (#4) in Tampere in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ura Basket II will play on the road against Espoo Basket (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
