Regular Season Round 13: Valladolid - FC Barcelona II 66-71

We should mention about the upset which took place in Valladolid, where higher ranked Carramimbre (7-7) lost at home to seventeenth ranked Barca II (4-9) 66-71 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Carramimbre. Carramimbre trailed by 16 points after 3 quarters before a 23-12 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 66-71 at the end of the game. Swingman Aleix Font (192-98) stepped up and scored 29 points for the winners and Sergi Martinez (203-99) chipped in 7 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side forward Alejandro Reyes (197-93) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and center Sergio De-La-Fuente (198-89) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Barca II moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Caceres and Coruna. Loser Carramimbre dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Barca II will meet at home league's leader Real Betis in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Carramimbre will play against Oviedo CB (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
