Very important is a home loss of third ranked Psychiko (6-4) against ninth ranked Kastoria (6-4) on Saturday night. Host Psychiko was edged by Kastoria in a tough game in Athens 62-65. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Psychiko. Point guard Thomas Amparas (190-94) scored 16 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Alexandros Raptis (200-81) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Kastoria's coach Nikos Karagiannis allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side forward Nikolaos Papanikolaou (209-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and forward Konstantinos Papantonakos (202-91) scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. Kastoria moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Psychiko. Kastoria will play against Karditsas (#5) at home in the next round. Psychiko will play against Evropi in Pefkohori and hopes to get back on the winning track.
