Regular Season Round 23: Hokkaido L. - Akita NH 84-79

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Saporro where 5th ranked Akita Happinets (10-14) were defeated by sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (6-18) 84-79 on Saturday. Hokkaido L. made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Akita Happinets were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Yoshitake Matsushima (185-92) helped adding 12 points and 11 assists. American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Takuya Nakayama (182-94) scored 17 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hokkaido L. maintains sixth place with 6-18 record, which they share with Yokohama BC. Newly promoted Akita Happinets keep the fifth position with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
