Regular Season Round 15: Pyrinto - KTP Basket 83-91

The game between Top Four teams took place in Tampere. Second-best host Tampereen Pyrinto (9-5) lost to third ranked KTP-Basket (9-6) 91-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tampereen Pyrinto. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. KTP-Basket made 29-of-35 charity shots (82.9 percent) during the game. Tampereen Pyrinto was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Donte Thomas (200-96, college: Bradley) who led the winners and scored 32 points and 9 rebounds. The former international point guard Antto Nikkarinen (185-91, agency: Blacktop Management) accounted for 15 points and 9 assists (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) for the winning side. American swingman Kenny Manigault (196-91, college: Pikeville) came up with 20 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jaylon Tate (190-95, college: Illinois) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for Tampereen Pyrinto in the defeat. Five KTP-Basket and four Tampereen Pyrinto players scored in double figures. KTP-Basket have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 9-6 record having six points less than leader Vilpas. Tampereen Pyrinto at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. KTP-Basket will play against league's leader Vilpas in Salo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tampereen Pyrinto will play on the road against Helsinki Seagulls and hopes to get back on the winning track.
