Regular Season Round 13: Goierri - Univ.Valladolid 97-91

There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Goierri (3-7) beat at home 9th ranked Univ.Valladolid (3-7) 97-91 on Saturday. Goierri shot 60.7 percent from the field and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for guard Aitor De-Miguel (186-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Ander Arbulu (195-94) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Javier Martinez (187-97) answered with 22 points and power forward Alvaro Encinas (202-94) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Univ.Valladolid. Five Univ.Valladolid players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Goierri moved-up to tenth place in Group A-A, which they share with defeated Univ.Valladolid. Univ.Valladolid lost their third game in a row. Goierri will face Ordizia-Basoa (#13) on the road in the next round. Univ.Valladolid will play against the league's second-placed Ardoi having rather not much hope for a victory.
