Regular Season Round 12: San Salvatore - Campobasso 75-76

Seventh-ranked San Salvatore (6-6) made lots of trouble for top-ranked Campobasso (11-0) on Saturday. The visitors from Campobasso managed to secure only one-point victory 76-75. However their fans expected much easier game. Strangely San Salvatore outrebounded Campobasso 37-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Giulia Ciavarella (183-97) who scored 33 points (!!!). Guard Roberta Di-Gregorio (173-90) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international power forward Federica Brunetti (184-88, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds and the former international guard Cinzia Arioli (178-84, agency: LBM Management) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Four San Salvatore players scored in double figures. Campobasso maintains first position in A2 with 11-0 record. San Salvatore at the other side dropped to the eighth place with six games lost. Campobasso are looking forward to face San Giovanni (#7) in Valdarno in the next round where they are favorite. San Salvatore will play on the road against Cagliari CUS and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
