Very important is a home loss of second ranked Pelplin (9-3) against seventh ranked AZS UMK Torun (6-6) on Saturday night. Host Pelplin was defeated by AZS UMK Torun in a tough game in Pelpin 66-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pelplin. AZS UMK Torun forced 21 Pelplin turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when AZS UMK Torun made 8 blocks. Guard Zbigniew Malinowski (188-84) stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners and center Adam Lisewski (205-80) chipped in 4 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 blocks. Pelplin's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for AZS UMK Torun. They moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with Arka II and Domino Inowr. Loser Pelplin dropped to the third position with three games lost. AZS UMK Torun will face league's leader Politechnika Gd. in Gdansk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pelplin will play at home against Ogniwo Szczecin and hope to win that game.
