Regular Season Round 23: Fukushima - Ehime OV 97-78

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Orange Vikings (8-16) were rolled over on the road by fifth ranked Fukushima (11-13) 97-78 on Saturday. Fukushima looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for power forward Evan Ravenel (204-89, college: Ohio St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 35 points (!!!) (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Center Chris Brady (208-95, college: Monmouth) helped adding 11 points and 12 rebounds. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Lakeem Jackson (195-90, college: S.Carolina, agency: SDJ Sports) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fukushima maintains fifth place with 11-13 record. Loser Orange Vikings keep the fourth position with 16 games lost. Fukushima will face again higher ranked Orange Vikings (#4) in Matsuyama in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
