Regular Season Round 23: Yamagata - Tokyo HT 93-72

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Yamagata (12-12) smashed at home 6th ranked Tokyo HT (3-21) 93-72 on Saturday. They outrebounded Tokyo HT 45-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. Yamagata looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Tokyo HT's players. It was a great evening for American-Irish swingman Will Hanley (201-90, college: Bowdoin, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 10 points, 18 rebounds and 11 assists. Nigerian forward Chukwudiebere Maduabum (206-91) helped adding 23 points and 7 rebounds. Four Yamagata players scored in double figures. American forward Cleanthony Early (203-91, college: Wichita St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Deangelo Kirkland (203-89, college: Columbus St., agency: Interperformances) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Yamagata maintains fourth place with 12-12 record. Tokyo HT lost their ninth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 21 games lost. Yamagata will face again Tokyo HT (#6) at home in the next round.
