The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers' (12-12) home victory over 5th ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (9-15) 93-85 on Saturday. Hitachi Sunrockers made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. San-en NeoPhoenix was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) helped adding 21 points and 7 rebounds. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. Point guard Shinnosuke Ohishi (174-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward William McDonald (206-79, college: Grambling St.) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. San-en NeoPhoenix's coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Hitachi Sunrockers have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 12-12 record, which they share with SeaHorses. Loser San-en NeoPhoenix dropped to the fourth position with 15 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face again San-en NeoPhoenix (#5) in Hamamatsu in the next round.
