Regular Season Round 12: Varese Robur - Fiorentina 91-90

There was a change at the Serie B leadership position after last games. Round 12 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Fiorentina (9-2). They were edged by fifth ranked Varese Robur (8-3) 91-90 on Saturday night. 28 personal fouls committed by Fiorentina helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Simone Ferrarese (184-87) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 4 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and power forward Davide Rosignoli (203-88) who added 13 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Five Varese Robur players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Simone Berti (196-85) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Diego Banti (205-83, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 8 points and 12 rebounds. Varese Robur maintains fifth position in B with 8-3 record. Fiorentina at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Tigers C.. They were replaced at the leadership position by Deco Caserta. Fiorentina will play next round against Omnia Basket trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Varese Robur will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Piombino on the road.
