Very expected game when 6th ranked Fubon Braves (3-7) were crushed by second ranked KKL (9-2) 88-69 on Saturday. KKL forced 19 Fubon Braves turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when KKL made 8 blocks. American swingman Paris Bass (203-95, college: Detroit Mercy) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Walter Sharpe (206-86, college: UAB) chipped in 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Four KKL players scored in double figures. Jamaican-Canadian forward Shaquille Keith (196-93) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and the former international swingman Wen-Cheng Tsai (190-85) scored 8 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for KKL. They used an opportunity after Taiwan Beer lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Fubon Braves keep the sixth place with seven games lost. KKL will face Dacin Tigers (#5) in Taipei in the next round. Fubon Braves will play against Bank of Taiwan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
