Regular Season Round 13: Martinenc - Castelldefels 72-70

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Martinenc (4-8) edged higher ranked Castelldefels (6-6) in Barcelona 72-70 on Saturday. Martinenc made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Castelldefels outrebounded Martinenc 47-28 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for guard Marc Sese (190-93) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 4 assists. Point guard Pau Mayor (-96) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Martinenc's coach Hugo Gonzalez used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Eric Manes (194-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and guard Felix Lopez (190-85) added 15 points in the effort for Castelldefels. Newly promoted Martinenc maintains twelfth place in Group C-B with 4-8 record, which they share with Barbera. Loser Castelldefels dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
