Regular Season Round 13: Pozuelo - Daimiel 86-87

There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked Daimiel (3-10) edged on the road higher ranked Pozuelo (6-7) 87-86 on Saturday. Strangely Pozuelo outrebounded Daimiel 43-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 53.1 percentage. It was a very good performance for American forward Julian Lewis (196-92, college: Lewis) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Sergio Hervas (184-92) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Borja Lopez (187-93) answered with 26 points and 7 rebounds and guard Alberto Arias (188-89) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Pozuelo. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Daimiel maintains sixteenth place in Group B with 3-10 record. Pozuelo at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Daimiel will have a break next round.
