Regular Season Round 13: Valencia II - Paterna 72-69

Fifth-ranked Paterna (4-7) was very close to win a game against second ranked Valencia-2 (10-1). Valencia-2 managed to secure only three-point victory 72-69. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Paterna. They outrebounded Paterna 45-32 including 18 on the offensive glass. Point guard Guillem Ferrando (186-2) fired 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Javier Soler (199-0) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Juan-Luis Navarro (196-91) produced 16 points and 6 rebounds and guard Diego Belarte (183-92) added 14 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Valencia-2 have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Lliria lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position in Group E-A. Paterna at the other side keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. Valencia-2's next round opponent will be Alginet (#4) on the road. Paterna will play against Benicarlo in Castellon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
